I, too, was a member of the do-gooder youth camp (scouting). And, like you, find the good habits I was trained as a kid have stuck with me.

Yes! I took my mom hiking near Harper’s Ferry and she found a water bottle in the river and was SO MAD about it she picked it up and carried it for miles until she found a recycling bin.

i believe that’s even enshrined in some version of the Boy Scout ideals... i remember learning to leave the campsite better than we found it. Perhaps as a result, i also sometimes pick up trash from the street.

Thoughts and prayers

Like lots of technologically driven silliness, this one has created lots and lots of jobs. These kinds of projects are good for everyone, including the communities that help support them.

https://pi-hole.net/ is really great too if you don’t mind spending the $10-$35 for a pi. It blocks the ads before they even get to your computer so most sites don’t even notice.

It’s helped that Adblock is almost always quietly updated to deal with sites trying to get around it. Well, that and just giving the finger to any sites that demand you disable it to read whatever. According to my ABP, there are currently 35 ads that are being blocked on this page.

I’m assuming the “riddles” have to do with putting together the long sequence of code (or whatever) that constitutes the coin itself. I look at it like a safe cracker going back and forth on the dial really, really quickly to try and find the right sequence of numbers.
