Oh I agree whole heartedly. I think if anyone should be sued, it would be he individual. That being said, I can see more of a justification, at least in the minds of the plaintiffs, that by employing him, there is at least some culpability.
I totally get that rationale (well, I do and I don’t..), but my thing is, the make of the car is sort of irrelevant.
I get the financial logic, certainly. I guess more accurately, I will be curious to see how they make the case that Toyota carries responsibility. And who knows? Maybe Toyota knew this guy was a creep, and had some history. I obviously don’t know all the facts.
Criminal charges seem totally appropriate, as does suing the dealership.
