About an hour in and underwhelmed so far. My biggest gripe is the controls are annoying (sure, you can change them, but your confirm command changes too), and performing an action on something is hit or miss. I may not be facing a person, and trying to swing a sword right next to them, and I’ll still talk to them for

It definitely looks good, but most Zelda-likes I try don’t take into account my favorite part of Zelda, which is being able to progressively explore more by gaining more items. How does this game do on that front?

Then you are in luck! The Motorcycle gets hungry

Glove and Boots did this to great comedic effect.in Breath of the Wild, I love when people do stuff like this

It’s interesting that what you considered the lowest point was my favorite part of the DLC. I really enjoyed having to find the specific points on the map, and then completing the challenges that existed there. I generally enjoy the “running around the overworld” part of the game though, opposed to the puzzle parts.

The nice thing about the volleyball is that despite it being hard, you can always grab a friend and do 2-player mode to make it a bit easier.

I cheated in Volleball by having my wife control cappy while I controlled Mario :-P

Yeah the scooter is how I ended up managing to actually get the moon, but you are right, it’s not exactly simple to get it lined up exactly right. Strangely, sometimes he would move one pixel to the left after each jump in certain positions on the scooter, which of course made it even harder.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a silly glitch that is probably more complicated to perform than simply doing the challenge and earning the power moons.

Ha! Yes, that’s perfect!

Texan Millionaire Mario is the only way to go! Black Suit + Cowboy Hat, a wonderful look.

Close runner-up: Mario 64 outfit, because I’m a nostalgic fool

I go the opposite direction. I say bless you to every public bodily expulsion. Sneeze? Cough? Burp? Hiccup? Puke? Fart? Don’t care, you get a bless you from me.

Yeah, I could have gone with the direct quote, but these three words are all I can think of anytime dolomite is mentioned.

I can see that, but then that’s just an item-based progression game with knowledge instead of actual items, not a Metroidvania. Calling it that works backwards on the genre tree, and would mean Zelda games are Metroidvanias as well, rather than both just being item-based exploration games.

Legitimately interested in your usage of Metroidvania for this game, I don’t really see the connection? I haven’t fully played the Witness yet, but I’ve played enough to see that it’s a first person puzzle game at its heart, whereas Metroidvania would be a platformer with an open map that requires you to explore to

Huh, I never thought about that. I host Smash parties a few times a year, but it’s hardly a serious affair. We just stick with 3-stocks because we find it more fun.

This post on Smashboards is pretty much what you are looking for:

I just watched Oneyplays play this game, and they were actively working against their team in the last episode. It was freaking hilarious

I mean, it sounds like the game will still be 100% playable without touching microtransactions, so whatever?
