I’ve known a bunch of (terrible, neglectful) people who are too lazy to walk their dog and don’t care that their apartment stinks so they exclusively use wee wee pads. If the dog was a year old when adopted, its former owner may have kept wee wee pads in the bathroom and trained it to go there. On the other hand, my

I ordered a set of stickers from the NYC sanitation department that have tiny pictures of what you can put in each bin. They are on every building’s trash bin. I put them on the trash/recycling cans in my own apartment because I was so tired of taking trash out of my recycling bins (NYC does paper separately from

We have ten states that have container deposits. Usually five cents, sometimes ten. I enjoyed returning the cans as a kid, but I don’t think most people are willing to put in the effort to get back sixty cents for dragging a big bag of cans around. In NYC, many homeless people dig through the recycling bins to

Other people can respond to the other points in your post, but shipping recyling to China did not impact our carbon footprint in any meaningful way. The US imports lots of goods from China. Those container ships need to go back to China to get refilled and they might as well go back full instead of empty. It’s why it

What are you even talking about? She was called Mera by the climbing team because they met her after descending Mera Peak, right before they climbed Baruntse. She was then adopted by a local Sherpa who managed the base camp for the expedition and also seems to own a farm. He changed her name when he adopted her to

I watched the first two seasons of Jersey and I think Danielle is the saddest of all of the housewives. It was like watching a woman who built her entire self worth around being hot just sink into depression as she aged.

I didn’t watch the show then but I vaguely remember hearing that Emily Maynard’s kid (whose Dad had died) was with her for the duration of the show, although not necessarily on camera.

I would have responded “oh, you mean because all whales are boys and all dolphins are girls?” Dumb people deserve dumb responses.

Yeah, Mallory and Jessi were only allowed to baby sit during the day.

two.

$60 million! But that was a week long destination wedding for two thousand people, with airfare, hotels and cell phones all provided for the guests.

They’ve added another column for him to write (the Saturday one) and Nicole Cliff mentioned in an article that she has to sometimes raid the Prudie Mailbag to get enough questions for Care & Feeding. I am wondering if that’s also happening with Ask A Teacher, How To Do It and the pet one. Maybe he is just less happy

My theory is that the $50m represents the combined net worth of McPhee and Foster, so “$50m wedding!” really means “legally combining these two people’s assets!” But I’ve now spent 30 minutes researching the most expensive weddings, so I’m feeling pretty proud of myself.

My favorite one of those was the woman whose neighbor took in her dead parent’s two dogs with permission of their landlord and was now one dog over the apartment complex’s maximum. The letter writer had no complaints with noise or smells etc but she just wanted to know how soon she should insist that the complex

I’ve loved Dear Prudence for years!

I looked up the most expensive weddings ever. It looks like it’s hard to spend more than about $8m on a fancy celebrity/super rich person wedding, and that’s for a destination wedding with private jet & hotel accommodations for all guests, plus famous musician performances. Foster is rich, but $50m is more than his

I think Drew asked for Grandpa stories instead of poop stories a few months ago?

I’ve never heard of someone accepting the ticket instead of a monthly parking garage, because the higher garage fee also comes with the convenience of not circling for an hour to find a space. A $65 ticket twice a week for a month also comes out to over $500. It’s not that hard to find a better rate on a garage.

The boot is only for unpaid tickets. As long as you keeping paying on time, the city doesn’t care how many you get.

My sister did that in college every week! She could park illegally near class or park legally and walk further. The tickets were like $15, but I still thought it was obnoxious.
