NASCAR drivers wear cool suits and the series mandates driver air conditioning (admittedly they use non-refrigerant type, so the longer races do get hot when the ice melts). This is what is known as a false equivalence argument.

Because of the crash late in the race, they were supposed to finish the race under yellow flag, Lewis 1st and Max 2nd PER THE RULES. They chose to release half the lapped cars and create a one lap drag race between Lewis and Max at the end to satisfy Netflix.
