Everybody drink.

20% Dems (Clintonites) are every bit the enemy of the middle and working class that republicans are. They’ve benefitted from neolib economics that are crushing the rest of us. They’re view of us is exactly the same as the GOP: we’re just lazy losers. I don’t give a fat fuck what they think about gay marriage - they’re

Because the DNC’s idea of bipartisanship is start on the middle-right and move right. They do not uphold leftism when they negotiate. They kowtow to everything the right wants, because they share the same economic philosophy - GOP = straight trickle down, DNC = trickle down lite

And that’s the problem: you’re asking the wrong smart-ass question.

Are you sure about that? Today’s GOP-lite, blue-dog, third-way Democratic Party is to the right of Nixon and every R before him. I’d say that willful push to the right by the “D” sellouts over the past 25 years has been gradual enough to be essentially uncapped. And you can see by the idiots defending it here, that

If the Democrats show any signs of trying to be bipartisan (which, face it, is the only way to get anything done as the minority party in every branch) then the “left” accuses them of correctly identifies this as selling out...”.

Why in the world would Democrats want to appear like they’re working with nearly the least popular president in history (and certainly the least popular one, when restricted to comparing the beginning of their terms)?!

This has to be the worst idea I’ve ever read regarding what to do moving forward from yesterday.

They could push for Medicare for All and accept nothing less. An affirmative policy position that would help Americans and definitely isn’t just “not Trump”.

The whole argument Libby is making here is for obstructionism/opposition based on this specific issue, not based on vague “not Trump” resistance.

As long as the majority of Ds tacitly or explicitly agree with Republicans on the underlying economic theory that affects policy decisions, the Republicans will have a upper hand all the time.

It’s like when you’re bargaining. You always want to offer the fair price right up front, right? Wait, have I been doing that wrong?

You’ve nailed it. This is exactly how “centrism” pushes the Overton Window to the right while temporarily benefiting only the small number of elite Democratic politicians who actually manage to put toes on the center — before it slides out from beneath their feet. Moderation fallacies will be the deaths of us all,

See? This the kind of thing I’m talking about. They are so terrified of going left, that they have fetishized “bipartisanship” and centrism, even though there is none to be had!

I knock on hundreds of doors every year for both local and national elections(for money; chumps volunteer) and the number one concern people give me is healthcare.

Nope. Need single payer. No one thing will enable economic growth more. When you don’t have to worry about your healthcare costs or losing your home, you’re willing to take more chances, innovate, and do things you wouldn’t normally do. Without this, you lose the entrepreneurial spirit and the economic system tanks.

Pretending Americans are defined by anything other than ignorance and hatred isn’t going to help. In fact, it is actively going to hurt.

Maybe after a lot of unnecessary suffering but right now, America lacks the basic education neccessey to be sold on improved healthcare.

You’re an asshole. Maybe, just maybe, Rev Barber actually cares about the health and well-being of people, because they are people—not because they are sources of income. Clearly, this is too big a reach for you.

i fully believe that miko grimes has killed more people than chris kyle
