the law is pure entrapment. the"unknowingly" part sums it up. basically if a student snuck a book in as a prank and put it on the shelf, the teacher is now a felon. if a parent sneaks a book in, the teachers a felon. and because it only applies to teachers, the parent faces no penalty

Seriously, having books taken and seeing empty shelves are going to be far more traumatic for kids than reading about penguins in love or a book with black characters. But I guess it’s harder to brainwash people if they know how to read
