Alternate example, the first Resident Evil movie, before the whole thing went off the rails and ruined game characters and plots. It was it’s own thing that easily could have fit into the world of the original game series. No stepping on toes, no characters from the source material, just a standalone story.

In my experience, about 2 years is enough for the mask to slip and get a handle of how bad a job can get. If you stick around past that either it’s a good job or you might be able to tough it out until better opportunities come your way.
