I saw Double Indemnity in the theater this summer. I’d seen it before, but seeing it in the theater just ads a little extra noir. Such an excellent fucking film.

He looks like a young Antonio Banderas!

Notice that Reginald Gardner plays in both Christmas in Connecticut (he’s the ‘pretend’ husband to satisfy the Sydney Greenstreet character) and he’s the actor friend in The Man who Came to Dinner who phonies up the fake marriage proposal to Ann Sheridan’s character. He’s great in both movies, even if the characters

My boyfriend dismisses my Investigation Discovery/Femme Fatale movie watching...little does he know...I’m studying...

Fred MacMurray in the pre-My Three Sons days gives me serious pants problems.

Yeah, I’ve probably seen every Christmas movie made between 1940-1960, and this is my favorite of them all. It's strange that it's been so forgotten compared to some of the others.

THANK YOU for promoting this movie! It is so amazing and awesome in every way. My mom and I watch it every year, and I'm planning to bring my daughter into the sacred circle when she gets older. It truly is an underrated classic. I especially like the feud between Felix the chef and John's crotchety housekeeper. It's

ME: Would you ever do this to me?

Barbara Stanwyck was pretty amazing. These two movie could not be more different, yet she delivers in both.

Yes to all of this.

I love how incredibly tacky her hair is.

Here, Barbara gets a super-cute guy, has an awesome job and wears there really wonderful winter ensembles ...all

Set my DVR - thanks for the head’s up!

Double Indemnity is my fucking JAM!

This is one Christmas movie I watch every year... I’m happy to see it featured here, because no one I’ve mentioned it to has ever heard of it.

Dat anklet...

It definitely can seem to magnify the delusions of certain disproportionate numerical minority extremists, for sure.

This is sadly not surprising. Many children in warzones are conditiones for this. I have a friend who did a tour in the middle east for the Canadian Military and had to watch their allies abuse children like this with explicit orders to do nothing. The children would then come around and offer their “services” to him

The internet is both totally GREAT and also sometimes kinda awful, just like people and life in general.

(Pretty sure it’s the general lack of structure, boundaries, civility, decent cultural behavior to model and the general FOX/Reaver theocracy coup that’s wrecking many contemporary things, yet that’s mostly TELEVISI
