Jermaine Jones played well too. I thought he was a difference maker as well. Bradley had one of the worst games I've seen him play. Still, we found a way to win. I'd rather play like crap and win than play an exquisite game and lose.
You're comparing Michael Bradley to the best box-to-box midfielder in the world. Overrated? Depends how highly you rate him, but you're an idiot if you don't see the skills that he possesses. Even with his poor offensive performance today, including a few terrible losses of possession that led in odd man rushes, he…
Call me crazy, but if you'd told me that Bradley would stink, Jozy would go down 20 minutes in, Dempsey would break his face, and Besler would go out at the half...but they'd win 2-1? I'd like to think I wouldn't have thought, "oh no sounds like I should be ready to complain after!"
We beat them, but did America really win? Oh yeah. 2-1. Fuck.
Jones's age and however he is "supposed" to play do not affect my opinion that he was the best US player on the pitch tonight.
Johnson was good, but Jermaine Jones was the US's best player.
Good lord. Last World Cup we were playing Algeria and Slovenia. Ghana is on a completely different level. Then throw in the loss of our best hold-up striker 20 minutes in and a dreadful game from our usually reliable star midfielder. And we still won. Some people are impossible to please.
Jermaine Jones won that game for us.
Because Seattle is the most popular market in MLS, durr?
Seattle has a legitimate soccer fanbase. The Sounders average like 40k fans per game, which is more than most European teams average in Europe. You don't put that much dedication into a sport when you only like it "ironically".
Yea! I mean in years past they couldn't even beat Ghana in the World Cup and nowadays they can't even beat Ghana in the World Cup. Wait, what?
Prostitutes? I don't think he's gonna need to pay for anything tonight.
That was a thrilling game with some really bad football. I have to assume that Ghana, with their good individual technique and speed, are just a poorly coached team. Long ball after long ball and bad movement off the ball.
BTW that Brooks celebration, I thought he was having a mental breakdown..
No it wasn't that bad, especially considering Germany BEAT Portugal today like they were hiding legacy Nazis.
Great game, really exciting last 10 minutes or so but all it does is give them a chance to advance. If they would have lost or drawn it probably would have been over but now instead of having to beat Portugal, they can survive with a draw which, considering the events of today, is not as far-fetched as it once seemed.
Still too soon.
NOBODY CAN STOP THE US MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. NOBODY.
