David Hyde Pierce is one of my favorite actors of all time. I thought he was so underused in this episode and then with that last scene I was like "holy shit, he may be the new Canning" and then I started crying and my mom walked in and it was a whole thing. This show has no right casting this well.

I will never get tired of his speeches, but I will say that last night's was the greatest in a long time. I could have sat there for two hours listening to him just continue to rattle off verbs. Joe Morton really needs to host Tough Love or an Iyanla-type "come to Jesus" reality show.

At my advanced screening, most people didn't get the title. Once you explained what laggie meant to them, they were like "that makes a tiny bit of sense." I had to then point out to 25-30 people that either Chloe or Kaitlyn VERY CASUALLY mentions "laggies" in a non-pivotal scene.

I got to see an advanced screening of this - in the version I saw, Sam Rockwell's character says something like (SPOILER) "You may be it for me" (END SPOILER) TO Megan, which is ridiculous to say to anyone after a week and given the actual interactions you see them have. Our whole focus group was like "woah, stalker".

I think that's what it is. He's know as eye candy more than a Serious Actor. This is his Babel or Dallas Buyers Club, where it's like "oh the hot guy is doing serious shit now."

I literally wanted to see it as soon as I saw the poster. I was thinking it was something akin to They Live, which with the journalism/media angle that's not entirely wrong.

I am so sorry to have to break that to you. They are not picking it up for a second season but another network is free to, meaning USA probably relinquished their rights.

I just like the character, thin as she is. She's sweet, intelligent, and has an ease with Barry that I enjoy. I hope that she becomes more fleshed out but I think the actress gives her a warmth that is just pleasant to watch.

Yeah, the Flash seems to be avoiding misogyny. While it's not Bechdel-friendly, the women involved are not All Over The Lead Male and Barry treats all of the women he encounters with respect. The men in Iris' life all treat her with respect - even her father this week had a totally valid reason for objecting to her

I DON'T GET IT. They dress her so contrastingly - tight bodycon dresses but then a tired ponytail and horribly unflattering square glasses your ex-boyfriend wore in 2003. I don't get why they can't just put a pen behind her ear or something else to indicate "SmartyPants McGee". I think I also find the actress

I'm never going to find Dennah funny as a vague hippie unless they just rip off Jackie from Trophy Wife, who was Hippiecritical and often burst into manic, boozy, and decidedly non-yogic moments and was maybe my favorite part of that whole show. You can't do "free-spirited" anymore unless it's lampooned in a fun way,

BRING BACK PLAYING HOUSE

Speaking of Kay, this is the second episode in two weeks where something is said like "HEY, KAY? DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE A LESBIAN"? I think the writers are trying to say "THIS CHARACTER HAS A TRAIT UNLIKE MOST BLACK WOMEN ON TV" but she still feels rote, Sapphic nature aside.

Dave was a great punching bag because in most groups of people he would fare quite well - attractive white guy with great hair and a guitar. Dave could have been the popular kid in high school (the artistic athlete?) and it wouldn't surprise me. So for his group of friends to rank him at the lowest level is really

Not to disparage the actor's appearance, but he is one of several Bearded Portly Friends to appear this season. There's one on A to Z as well and I think Mixology had a similar guy? It's a strange trend and unless they do something special with Gil, he will feel rote. Max was a wholly, wholly unique character. The

When you make a show and you have clear talent (a Caspe, Goor, or Schur) that is your comedic voice coming through. When you water that down, I think people can feel it. It's not authentic. Chuck Lorre is maybe the exception, though he seems to be returning to a more interesting and even intelligent type of

Include Trophy Wife in there as well.

When it's done on Parks, it's almost always funnier than if you had heard the actual word. Ron BLEEPin' Swanson. Here it was distracting because they did it two or three times AND blurred out nudity several times in 22 minutes. That's about 8 active censors during one half-hour show. A lot.

MARIONETTES!

I have to give her Best Episode to Crime and Punishment, because her whole "Spell on You" montage killed me. Tracee Ellis Ross is a GIFT.
