If I hear that "NIGHTS LIKE THIS!" song one more time. The trailer is EXCRUCIATING.

Someone in the Selfie thread posted this same concern about that show, and I think they'll be okay. If the content is fresh, you can have infinite weird coworkers. They have really left the oldest daughter untapped, and so they can eventually move towards her - figuring out career path, prom, driving, boyfriends,

Wholly agreed. Marsai Martin and Albert Tsai (Trophy Wife) could carry a Disney show that I'd actually watch.

Yes! Expanding on the source material/modernizing it is the only way the show can have a life beyond 2-3 seasons. I don't think this is the type of show to have people wait 7 years for the main characters to fall in love, especially given Kapnek's stance on that in her other shows.

I think they can stretch it or then modernize it - have the two enter a relationship, pull a New Girl and do a brief coupleship. I think that the premise is more loosely based than firmly-based, like how this week booty calls were introduced. So as long as they can think of fresh lessons for their characters to learn,

Kapnek is incredible at satire, from Parks to spoofing the suburbs in Suburgatory (RIP). However, I think she went too narrow with her next target. Parks (politics) and Suburgatory (suburban life) aren't as dated as this show is - it constantly has to keep up with new apps and trends and will seem outdated quickly. If

I think a more interesting premise would have been that she lost her job because of her social media fixation and he lost his because of his inability to adapt to the modern day. Because if she's so good at her job, we're not seeing it. Now, The Office said that Jim was great at his job but it was more of an impactful

In an interesting subversion, this type of person is part of the "cool crowd" that Eliza tries to be accepted into. I enjoy that.

I thought the same thing last night - "was her accent bleeding in there or is this just her cadence". She never had a thick Scottish accent to me, so maybe just the Valley Girl lilts are reminiscent of her "Doctorr" Scottish voice.

I would love if that character is asexual, actually. Robin Lord Taylor is the only reason I am really getting any enjoyment out of this show.

Hunnam amazes me because his "real" accent also sounds fake. I have never heard that man speak in a comfortable accent, expect perhaps in Pacific Rim, where it did not stand out as much because there were giant robots with giant swords.

Mostly because of his poor accent. He does have a presence here for Doctor Who, but the pilot he tried (playing a lawyer) and I suspect this show will not go in his favor because his accent is SO NOTICEABLE.

It's not the most accessible show. DVD's of British imports cost 60-80 a SEASON (Doctor Who seasons of 13 episodes are 70 dollars at Best Buy) and torrents aren't always forthcoming (wrong type of file, corrupted, etc.)

When I saw him stoic at first, I thought it was in relation to Carver's "observe the reactions" talk in the car and that she would have reported that to him. Then when nothing came of that I thought "maybe the guy is just a shitty actor". He looked more bored than stoic.

Emmett Carver? What a horrible name. Sometimes I really can't with character names, like how the ethnically ambiguous Maggie Q was given the name "Beth Davis" on Stalker. Her real last name is Quigley, but they could have easily gone with something that gave diversity to the character. Shonda Rhimes picks good

I haven't watched the show so I can't say for sure, but this is a widely distributed number and the reason Julia Baker was included as Olivia's alias on the show.

I think they count only leads (not ensembles, because then you have A Different World too).

Thank you! You are wholly correct.

Jada is doing an amazing Eartha Kitt impression, I love Ryan Atwood, and the guy who plays the penguin is some of the best casting I have ever seen in my life. Also, Selina looks so much like a young Michelle that I have taken to enjoying her. I also want Donal Logue to be rich. It's the same effect going to your aunt

Hmm? The name was a reference to Julia Baker, Diahann Carroll's character on Julia, the first (and last up to Scandal) show to feature a black female lead.
