Wait, your saying the evaluation of social influences and promoted viewpoints with respect to content being pushed as acceptable is unrelated to potential chilling effects on speach? And you do this while acknowledging the purpose and intended effect?

That position assumes equal weight gets carried by all voices. That’s not the case here or anywhere else. Your position ironically is the one viewing criticism in isolation by viewing things as a 1 for 1 equivalency.

Depends how you define a power structure. The video in question paints a negative picture over a specific element of TLOU and it’s characterizations. That could affect perceptions of the game which in turn could be seen as affecting future sales and thus cause alterations to the product itself. Criticism isn’t

Self-censorship is external in nature. It’s the refusal to create works which may be seen as drawing a negative consequence.

Honestly, even with the pay wall I would probably have caved because of this seasons shows only on Amazon. But then i remembered they don’t have an android phone video app outside of their proprietary store that needs access to your devices very soul.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I still don’t get the issues with the chip system. It seemed extremely straightforward to me. But more than that I called the combat accessible, not necessarily the game as a whole. It’s niche IMHO because the story is the draw and the subjectiveness of that aspect alongside the

No, he didn’t. You explicitely stated the issue was about how men presented women in popular culture while drawing issue with this female character.

I still find it a bit odd that people think of the upgrade system in Nier Automata as being specifically complex. It’s not the simplest thing, but the capacity to pick and choose upgrades and optimize was actually more engaging than overwhelming to me.

I can see your perspective as someone who wanted Bayonetta/MGR level combat. As soneone who didn’t have those expectations (and genuinely doesn’t excel at the platnum combat genre) the game felt good for what it was.

I can’t really agree with your opinions here.

Again, opinions will vary. Between the world being small and quests doing a good job of supporting the world, as well as conbat feeling good in any space I didn’t have an issue with the format.

For what it’s worth it didn’t take me till the end of the game so there’s that.

The open world is tiny. Hardly worth conplaining about imho, but to each their own. It serves its purpose as a backdrop for other, non main story events to unfold through quests, which can’t be done as effectively through level based design.

You’re not answering that was asked. Mainly because you’re again conflating sexualization with objectification. While the latter often involves the former, the former isn’t inherently or always the latter.

Based on that I’m not sure route c will give you the answers you’re looking for. What I will say is that it is probably worth it to see. If the beginning of c doesn’t capture interest then maybe the narrative isn’t to your taste, but b isn’t the place to stop.

You’re missing a significant chunk of story. That aside I’m curious about what you mean by “pretentious.”

Where did you get the idea that sexualization was wrong? Are you incapable of saparating sexualization from objectification? If so that’s a personal failing you should work on. Humans are sexual beings that fundamentally need the capacity to separate attraction from objectification. Else you end up with your own

No, sexual attraction is not the root of wage disparity or gender equality. Neither of those things originates from sexualized imagery. If that were the case heterosexuality would inherently make someone incapable of viewing genders as equals.

It didn’t have to be, but at the same time there is no reason it should need an excuse to begin with. There is nothing wrong with it and as such it needs no justification. The reason there was one for Kaine appears to be to give background within the game’s world for it, not justify it to the player or critics.

What are the actual negative consequences you’re referring to? What actual harm comes to any real persons when someone creates a sexy character? Further, what harm comes when that character’s sexiness doesn’t override their other aspects as is the case here?
