This looks more like a uninsured poor that got rear ended by another uninsured poor and just made do with what was laying around the house for the DIY fix, not because they needed space. That was just a bonus.

What exactly went over my head??? The fact you said electric EV’S “It actually makes sense given the weight of response vehicles and whatnot" ??? Was that to be taken as a joke? Whatever dude..

Also, NHSTA probably isn’t the best reference to get info for this topic, FEMA’s USFA (United States Fire Administration) NFIRS (Nation Fire Incident Reporting System) probably have better stats. A quick look shows there were 206,000 vehicle fires reported in 2016, with California the leading state. Ironically,

If it's dispatched as a car fire and the truck gets there and has to pull a line, it's a car fire. If they get there and it's out on arrival, it counts as a car fire, just reported as out on arrival. Most car fires require a line to be pulled and usually a total loss. Rarely are extinguishers used. You still have to

Will absolutely not happen with primary response vehicles.. have you ever looked at modern fire equipment? A ladder platform? A ladder truck? You realize fire pumps work off the engine and how much power that requires? Do you understand water and electricity don’t mix? Batteries have a finite amount of energy as well.

Just saw new information from someone who was at the scene with this fire.. 19 hours now is the total time spent on scene..Times 4.. and a PIO who came out, and probably a chief or 2.. 80 manhours, not 6, not 24. Fucking 80

When your Tesla parked in your garage shorts out while your sleeping and burns your house down (and possibly kills you and your family) you had better hope your nearest fire station isn’t stuck babysitting another Tesla car fire for 6 hours and can’t leave to come save you.. Do you realize how close the tire shop

Ummm yeah, NOW.. in about 9 years or so, there will be Teslas that old..and many more of them. Along with many more battery packs and wrecked Teslas in junkyards ...you just livin for the now or what? Musk wants to dominate the world, so the sooner they get this all figured out the better..

Lol, no shit. I’ve seen plane crashes mopped up faster than this Tesla debacle

Umm, the manpower is 5x what a ICE fire is.. figure it out, 4 firefighter on scene for 1 hour= 4 man hours for ICE.. 4 firefighters on scene for 6 hours= 24 man hours for electric. Yes, you are paying these guys anyway with a paid dept. But you have multiplied the risk of someone else in that rigs first due area

Close, anywhere from half a hour to an hour on average, by the time you get the truck back in service, refill the water tank, etc.

Stupid response.. do you realize this was a simple car fire that turned into a 6 hour haz mat response? I've seen gasoline tankers that have burned up and dealt with quicker than this joke. And by the way, I'm a retired firefighter, so seen a few things..

That should have been on Elon to have figured out before he was allowed to sell a product that behaves this way. He should have to come up with this “neutralizer” and provide it for free to emergency responders. Everyone knows water and electricity don't mix.

Fire needs 3 things for it to occur, oxygen, fuel (gas, wood, plastic, etc) and a ignition source. If the batteries are the source of the fire, they must not be sealed very well. Tesla needs to go back to the drawing board.and eliminate any danger these batteries face.. A sealed unit should be airtight for a couple

Breathing apparatus cost around 5k per, but are reused for 5 to 10 years and are refilled with compressors using breathing air. This isn’t really a factor here. What is, is the out of service time required. 6 hours is what a nasty house fire requires more or less. What if lives are lost while this rig is out of

You are kidding, right? As if putting Fuck of USA on a start up screen doesn’t violate anything? You think whoever did this gives 2 shit about chain of custody?

Fox News is reporting this is the new Beast Presidential Limo.

That's a Presidential Seal. This is the new Beast.

Or Presidential Limo.

Those Bronco II windows ain't cheap. I owned a 84 and some homeless dude threw a rock through one back in 88 and they wanted something like 500 bucks for it back then..
