Cayman Green my ass...that son-of-a-gun is Teal!
Nice Price!

Now playing

“And I swear the trunk had “power close” on it...was that a thing?”

Yes...yes it was.

They had that feature way back in the ‘50s.

Back in the 70s and 80s, I understood sunroof to mean the opening was opaque, usually a body colored metal panel, and had to be opened to allow in light or air. Moonroofs were glass, and allow light in at all times (but they usually have an interior shade).  You don’t see the metal “sunroof” much anymore.

These were bottom of the line, budget cars back in the 70s. This needs to be in much better condition to be worth $8000. The column shift automatic isn’t helping its case any either.

Update:  I just looked around at what people are asking for these -- it’s nuts.  This one is priced pretty low compared to similar cars

Good candidate for an LS swap and some fat wheels

It has 4-doors and a trunk.  Keep in mind that back in those days a “trunk” was literally a steamer trunk strapped onto the back end of the vehicle.

“If your mind is made up to go Tesla, and cant wait, then this is a pretty good deal.”

This is exactly what I was thinking. I was hesitant but the price is close enough that I went nice price, of course only for a buyer in the specific group you mentioned.

Astra, isn’t that an Opel?
Did you know that Pontiac’s sister to the Chevy Vega was called Astre (with an “e”)?

I live in South Korea and export of used vehicles from here to Africa is a thriving business. On a personal note, when I was in Baghdad I saw several commercial vehicles with Korean writing on them, presumably imported and repurposed from Korea.

“My folks always installed a dash mat as soon as they bought a new car. They live in the Mojave desert and rarely park in the garage.

“How is sound quality at the other end? Or is it a lot of Wind Noise and breathing?”

I have the earlier version of this unit, the Cardo Packtalk. When I’m on a phone call with someone, they can’t even tell I’m on the bike, even at highway speeds. Note that I have a fairing and windshield, and wear a full-face helmet. I

Add rent-to-own stores to the list as well.

They weren’t all bad. My parents owned Buick almost exclusively for nearly 50 years. They had a ‘83 Century (with 3.0L engine) for five years and 150,000 miles, no issues, so they bought another. And five years later they bought a LeSabre (3800 engine), and drove it for 10 years and only routine maintenance required.

I was on the fence, but the 5MT pushed it onto the nice price side for me.  If the prices was $500 lower I wouldn’t have hesitated.

“How do you turn a ball sideways?”

I don’t know, but keep trying

Ah, there’s something that I want you to know now
Just as sure as the engine’s gonna blow now
The problems come and the check engine light glows now
Before you buy it ‘cause you think you love it so now.
My mama told me, “You better shop around”

Too late.

This was my thinking, and I voted nice price, but it was a tough call. But what pushed into NP territory for me is how many boxes this thing checks.
