i think we've lost the connection to dystopian and somehow replaced it with "not racist ass rednecks" for most of this article...

way to research an article idiot...

awesome.

obviously my sarcastic puns are not appreciated by all... and should probably have been clarified further... =\

"narrowly survived" if the Ark is protected by divination, shouldnt it be indestructible?

forgive me if this is a stupid idea, but if we can get a probe going that fast buy putting it in orbit around the sun, why cant we do the same with a spacecraft and then turn its trajectory outward? if momentum in a vacuum is sustained, why wouldnt this theory work? alos, the real problem with a "generation ship" is

heh =]

wow, dont know how ive never seen this before... and those just... cant be accurate within the known laws of physics...

wow, just wow. it would have to be an insanely high density planet (or planetary system as you said - which i question, theoretically, if planets are orbiting each other wouldnt they be very large moons?) and an unbelievably low mass star for that to work out. planets orbit stars because they have much much higher

doesnt 4.3 light years equate to 4.3 years at the speed of light? so put that into an equation with current technology on one side & the speed of light on the other over 4.3 years and that would give you the answer?

ah the ori... +10pts

this is so much better than that tweeny twilight shit. thanks! =]

thanks for this post and the subsequent comments. i ordered mine a couple days ago and its supposed to be here in 14-21 days, and well... i was feeling a little nervous and skeptical about it. feeling much better now that im hearing what i had hoped was true from the beginning - that its not a piece of shit, lol! you

didnt 'sky captain and the world of tomorrow' take place in um... the 30s or something?

hmmm interesting idea for sure. i would think that supermassive would be taking away enough material from the other stars, etc. that it would cancel out the acceleration... but im certainly no expert. very interesting thought... im with you, would love to hear an expert's thoughts... =]

not following your logic. why would other black holes be popping up around a supermassive? because its eating other stars? black holes as far as we know result from the collapse of a stellar mass of large enough mass to create one. typically pretty huge. there are no other known sources of creating them that i am

yeah, your planetary insurance premiums are about to go way up... damnit...
