I liked rage too but it was certainly very formulaic and you had to go back to every zone twice to complete quests which seemed to get quite boring but I always liked the feel of the guns and the ammo loads you could swap out. I tended to go the entire game using the pistol and shot gun.

I bought that set for my son and I to put together and it was great. I also bought a discontinued bird set (robin, blue jay, humming) that was very similar and really cool once put together.
