I thought Supergirl was avoiding the Daxamite troops on the ground because they were using kryptonite. We saw green energy rays in the opening invasion scene, and when they initially gathered at the bar someone said the troops were using kryptonite

She knows that if she left with Mon-El then Rhea would have been killed by the positronic cannon. Rhea is a villain, but she is the mother of her boyfriend. She had to try.
I'm glad they addressed that Lillian knows Supergirl is Kara and why she hasn't told Leena. I also liked her explanation about how Leena would eventually find out and hate Kara for it - it was very Smallville-esque.
I think one of the many Superman reboots over the years changed his origin so that he was a fetus when placed in his ship leaving Krypton which gestated during the voyage so that when he landed on Earth, he technically was born right then and there.

Yeah, even though Rhea was forcing them to be married, Mon-El and Leena were always going to be prisoners and only trotted out for public appearances. In Rhea's plans, they never would have had the opportunity to enact any laws or overthrow her.
This reminds me of the Futurama episode where Fry falls in love with a mermaid and when they go to have sex he doesn't know what to do because her bottom half is a fish - she tells him that for her, sex means she'll lay her eggs and then he can fertilize them with his seed (needless to say, he runs away).
Her adopted father did work for a top secret government organization. I'm sure part of his agreement to work for them was setting up Kara's documentation, including a birth certificate.
