Vale appears to be immune.

In the cops' defense, aren't they taught to go for a body shot instead of a head shot? And who suspects that a criminal is going to be wearing bulletproof armor?

For his first few appearances, wasn't he in scenes with Harry when Harry was alone? I got the impression that his appearances were meant to be that he may have been Harry's imagination. In later seasons his appearances were more realistic i.e. he interacted with everyone.

I remember an NBC promo in the summer before Family Ties started showing just a gift box and the voiceover saying something like "What has four ties and comes in a box? Find out this fall." I think they showed the "Family Ties" name at the end of the promo. It's always stuck with me because it was so weird - no

It could easily have been just a one-off joke, but they decided to stick with it.

For as much as the characters changed from the first season, Harry's obsession with Mel Torme was set up in the pilot.

One of my favorite memories from this show is the episode where a guy wearing a bomb takes the court hostage. He says that Dan ruined his life and he will set off the bomb by a certain time unless Dan remembers who he is. Dan has no idea who the guy is, and with only minutes left, he gets desperate.

Brandon Tartikoff: (to 2 defendants he's there to bail out) Don't worry, I'll get you home in time to watch The Misfits of Science.
Mac: Didn't that get cancelled?
Brandon Tartikoff: (pause) I knew that!

This is a dark ride.

"I like a man who takes his time."

"Tonight on Wings … ah who cares."

Bull: Mr. Tartikoff, what do you see as the secret to your success?
Brandon Tartikoff: Well, I am my own man. I kowtow to no one.
Mac: (holding the phone) Mr. Tartikoff, a Mr. Cosby for you.
Brandon Tartikoff: (looks shocked) Oh god, the sandwiches! Tell him … tell him I already left! (runs off)
Mac: You just missed

Benson taught me that the pig from Green Acres was named Arnold Zifel. From the episode where he played Trivial Pursuit with the devil (or was it death?). Yes, that happened.

"Are you sure that's not Brezhnev?"

He's a great villain in House (the 1986 horror movie).

Maybe he was thinking of his dead character Big Ben in the 1986 movie House.

"Why did you have to tell everyone that my first name is … Reinhold?"
"Well, at least I didn't tell them about .. the acordian."
(cut to photograph of John Laroquette gleefully playing the accordian)

Or when she got into the hot tub with John Ritter in the Hearts Afire pilot.

After Wheeler says that the rest of the cash is in Mrs Wheeler's bosom, she nods to Markie Post and says "Looks like you've got a nice nest egg there yourself."

"That's right. It's us."
