I can understand that perspective somewhat, but relative to the article about using your emergency savings to pay it off I politely disagree. Different strokes for different folks, to each their own with money.

I can respect that viewpoint, but in my experience I have rarely seen it work. Using credit cards to live is just not a good idea in my opinion.
This is decent starter to savings article - emergency savings is called that for a reason. CC debt isn't an emergency. A new job isn't. Remodeling the kitchen definitely isn't. But a failing car definitely is, especially depending on where you live where public transportation may not be doable (or acceptable). Once…
Damn that's ugly - reminds me of being called into the coaches office when I missed practice in high school...
I clearly remember the summer of 1979 - it was the summer that my parents split up and I moved to a new apartment with my mom and brother. I was 7 years old. I remember the Bucky Dent home run the year before and my neighbor being a huge Yankees fan - I started to collect baseball cards at that time. I wasn't too…
I have been using Crashplan free plan for backups of my PC's to each other on my network, and also use unlimited bitcasa for anything that I want double backup of or would need to access via the cloud or my devices. Bitcasa uploads speeds do take a while, but worth it IMO to access files on the go. I have also found…
Yea it kind of seems like somewhat of a gray area...but still not something I would take a chance on - the big C is no joke
Sheryl Crowe agrees - I think I remember her saying her breast cancer was a result of this issue.
If you're over 30 and can afford to live alone, do so - otherwise live with family until you can afford to live on your own. Who wants to deal with messy, rude, strange people. Obviously living with the significant other doesn't count (I talking about friends or people whom you don't know in and out). Besides...if…
Yes I'm the kind of person who misses the days of Incubus and Linkin Park ... period.
Be careful with the reuse of plastic disposable water bottles, especially leaving them in high heat like the link in the article illustrates - there have been many articles written about the negative health effects of chemicals leaching into the water.
I thought right at the beginning of the article that you were going to replace coffee with...water. When I heard tea I was a little let down, but I know many people who have switched to green tea (real tea not the crap that is in supermarkets).
Thanks for this - I can relate to his posts. Humor is such a great thing, even in the face of sadness and eventual loss.
I live by Dorney Park in PA - you can smell the water park when you drive by if its hot enough (you know that smell). I never go to any amusement parks that have water parks, and I never go into any pool that has a baby in it - period. Disgusting.
I loved Action Park as a kid growing up in NJ - it was the more edgy alternative to Six Flag Great Adventure. Luckily never got hurt, but I remember several times seeing ambulances rushing to a side of the park while we were about to go on a "ride". Yes the Alpine Slide was the best - how cool to see people crash…
I used to do all 3 until I stopped using Netflix. I could stream through my Bluray player, through my WDTV Live, or on the PC. I liked Netflix when it was the only DVD by mail service, when it added the streaming plans I tuned out - it never seemed to work very well on my players (but on the PC was OK).
Conversely, I ask the interviewer (if they will be my manager) if they are married or have children. Work/life balance is important to me - I have had several workaholic managers who were either pre-retirement or single without children. They judged my need to leave on time or expected a lot of extra hours because it…
Thanks LH for this post - I was on the fence, but I will pass on this - I'll stick with my WDTV Live + Livewire network setup.
