I think that cost is part of this whole mess. F1 is just too expensive. Every team is looking for ways to save $ and copying parts saves $. Not only does it save $, it saves time.

Ford Maverick. Make it a small coupe to compete against Miata and BRZ. Make it light, 4 cyl, turbo with a stick. Create a convertible version too.
I’t buy it for 2K.
All of this is well and good but we have to remember an important fact...
I’m with you but you have to control costs. Look at the budgets for F1 and WEC. The budgets in F1 are $400ish million for the top teams. A new series can afford to let that happen.
Or even 20 Mustangs. Take a stock 5.0 Mustang, take out the interior, put in racing seats, cage and harness, apply appropriate tires and let them have at it.
Their product is boring. That is the problem. They are trying to make it like American football. That’s dumb.
Can they get people to watch on normal tv, ie not streaming? Only if the racing is good. And please, not another crash fest. We have enough of that in Nascar.
It looks like Ford is betting the farm on the Bronco. Will it pay off? Anyone?

I don’t think he is lacking when it comes to driving skills. It seems like his shortcomings are in the people skills department. Lewis openly says that the team he is on is a big part of his success. But he also talks about making smart choices when deciding what team to sign with.
Renault may be in a position to build a fast car when the new rules come into effect. Until that happens we will be seeing Alonso in the midfield.
The only way for Chinese cars to make it in the US is for Chinese car manufactures to do something no one else has done. Maybe it’s quality (not any time soon) or price (not feasible in the current economic climate).
There is no middle ground. No longer can you say “I’m not racist.”
We’ve got to talk about stuff like this. We can’t ignore it any longer.
I don’t really like pick ups unless I’m hauling something.
I autocrossed a 2002 WRX for 6 years. 227 hp and awd is a lot of fun.
If there is a computer, it will be hackable. Seriously, give a good coder a week and they will be able to gain access to the car’s computer and unlock whatever you want.
Cool build. $20,000 is way too much.
