I totally agree. There’s also the lead poisoning angle, which made them the most toxic and angry generation, while Gen X and millennials are statistically more peaceful and less criminal. IDK how true the lead poisoning theory is, but I like it, lol.

I’m so happy to see that this was the first comment. People who think that family should somehow be “spared” when they are toxic like this are maddening to me. Your parents do not get a free pass on dehumanizing you or demeaning you and no one is required to support family unreservedly.

Ideally, you treat your kids at least as well as a total stranger. But our culture is set up so you’re expected to make accommodations for parents, even in the face of behavior that’s way worse, and even illegal when coming from a stranger. It’s so weird.
