Yeah I would never tell someone that thier setup looks like bad. I’m sure I probably said it looks amazing which is probably what everyone says and why he keeps it on. He probably hates the soap opera look but people keep telling him his TV looks great so he won’t touch it.

I definitely spend too much time on the internet, but most of what I see for this game is TV ads during football games which is odd for a game who’s pedigree is the Witcher series. I don’t recall seeing Witcher 3 commercials during the steelers game. The red flag to me on the overhype scale is the frequency of these

Lol What? My TV is basically on the default setting, I’m color blind and can’t fine tune shit for video. But I did turn off the motion smoothing that makes shit look like a soap opera, it's literally a single setting that’s all we’re talking about here jagoff. I'm sorry you can't find a partner, you seem like a nice

I’m also a developer, about 5 years ago I started getting terrible migraines about twice a month which I associated with getting old and looking at a screen all day. Since working from because of covid for 9 months I have not had a single migraine. I’ve come to realize it was the flouresant lights causing my

I can’t remember which game but once years ago I was playing a game with a bug that caused the logo not to show on the calibration screen but the text appeared saying to turn up the brightness until the logo was visible. That was a very confusing half hour of my life.

I watched the first Avengers movie for the first time at a girlfriends father’s house in a nice theater room. But his TV had the vivid setting on. It ruined the movie for me, completely took me out of it and to this day I've not been able to really enjoy it despite loving all the other marvel films. Vivid mode must

Crazy, I just happened to finally get around to Dishonored 2 on my backlog last month and was fighting the urge to turn up the brightness after I suddenly started taking random damage I didn’t understand and died. I found out upon death I was being eaten by rats I couldn’t see. I decided ultimately that it was

Thanks for this, I'm a DIYer and my left stick has been acting up. I'm pretty sure I can send it to Nintendo for free repair but I'd almost rather do it myself than deal with shipping it.

Yeah I worked at McDonald’s in the late 90s and we had a similar rule for the default amount of ketchup we’d put in the bag. But if anyone asked for more we basically gave them as much as they wanted. Not worth losing a customer over $0.20 in condiments.

I worked in fast food long enough to assume the customer is probably in the wrong here. That being said I did complain to taco bell corporate once because one location (pretty sure it was a franchise) had a policy to only give one packet per item which is just absurd. So if you got a regular taco or a something huge

Using sequential id’s to access private data is like the first security mistake junior devs make then they learn to never do it again. It’s one of the first questions I ask when I interview a developer. A bit alarming the decision to implement it that way made it through thier entire development process without

I forget why I switched over to a 3rd party app years back but as others said the default android sms used to really be shit. If I remember correctly I think I had issues with group mms getting all screwed up. Like each response would start a new thread making it impossible to keep track. I’m sure it’s better now but

The best part is the No on one crowd when pressed on how someone might get your info to rape you, didn’t even have a real world example of that GPS data or address data being present. They argued that in theory an attacker could determine wear on a part attributed to salt damage and conclude you leave near the ocean.

I keep all my big item boxes now in the world of ebay, having the original box seems to fetch a better price and more attention. This is especially true of apple products. I sold my MacBook air for probably $100 more than it would have box less. But back in the pre AOL days I wouldn’t bother.

Also we had the station night club fire in RI about 45 minutes south of here which hit all of new England petty hard. Many people in mass know people impacted by that. So yes we thankfully are a hard ass city about fire codes given the two most tragically preventable fires in US history happened around here.

It’s funny you mentioned deus ex 2, I just replayed deus ex last week, probably my top 3 of all time favorites, and was thinking about this exact time in history when I was so excited for the sequel only to be totally let down by the simplicity and “consolifaction”. I was wondering if now almost twenty years later I

This is a good take, I just turned 40 and I grew up with a lot of these kinds of games. While I still love them dearly (this is my favorite genre) when I have 2 hours to play a game I don’t want spend one of those on a pixel hunt to solve a quest because I missed a pickup that blended in to the scenary. Im also color

I actually thought about getting the switch version because playing on pc did feel like a bit of a chore. I still enjoyed the game a lot, but sometimes getting from one place to another was just tedious.

I had the same problem and since I’m in my forties now with limited time rather than start over I respecced by editing my save file. Super easy, everything is in plain text within xml. Technically cheating but there is no way to respec in the game and it was ruining my enjoyment.

We’ve been there for a long time, look at most Disney stars who were the picture of purity in thier public personas. This goes back to the 50s and still persists,  Britney, Miley, Annette for the old timers. Etc.
