My friend M- is a polio survivor. She walks with crutches most of the time but also has to use a wheelchair sometimes. She has a son that she adopted at birth. It took until he was a few years old to figure out what the issue was, but he’s on the autism spectrum.
Same. I like their songs occasionally but every time I’ve tried to actually listen to them I get a couple minutes in and give up.
This is a band I wanna like in theory, but can’t get into in practice.
She’s like a little fertility goddess. I like it too.
A few days ago, a commenter posted a link to a MetaFilter thread about emotional labor. I am STILL engulfed in it, and it helped me understand some of my relationships make me so goddamn tired, and also why the double standards in partnerships like this^ are so toxic.
It’s so fucked up. People here are also so mad in general that the Kardashians don’t seem to ‘do’ anything. I love it. :)
Especially if the choker is a red ribbon?
How else will her head stay on? (I think of this every time I see a choker, even back in the 90s early aughts when they were EVERYWHERE.)
Limeaid concentrate is my go-to margarita mixer.
Chy looks great, fuck the haterz. Also, you could make the argument that the Kardashians have been scamming from black women the entire time so.......really, this is full circle.
Someone needs to take Rudy’s keys. Seriously. Quit talking to him. He genuinely thinks Hillary stole his Senate seat and now his presidency. Now he’s after Beyonce again. This dude has old white man disease.
Two braids with hair added is ridiculously easy. Extensions (sew, glue, clip) take longer and would not be used on a kid. Individual braid styling (lots of smaller braids with or without added hair) can be worn by kids. Plenty of little black girls are used to having their hair styled with multiple braids/cornrows…
Ok, that’s adorable.
I can’t believe 2016 is a real year that we’re all living through.
Fortunately no one tried to shove the baby back up inside her until the plane landed.
I’ve disliked a lot of what I’ve read about Semenya, and this piece provides a good counter-weight, but Semenya’s circumstance really does trip over a lot of hidden faultlines in how we think about gender and how we think about sports.
