Yeah, I bought a ‘92 Paseo when they first came out in the summer of ‘91. It might have been basically a Tercel underneath, but it was fun to drive, cost next to nothing to run and maintain, and was still going strong when I sold it nine years later.

MX-3, Toyota Paseo, Nissan NX, Geo Storm, Isuzu Impulse... They were all over the place for awhile, then poof... A shame.

The whole thing is a perplexing choice, so it actually fits.

“I have a rather negative friend who told me it was a stupid idea...”

As a former owner of an FX back in the day, I concur.

At least one reason not to be in a Prius: Driving enjoyment. Hells to the no. The thing drives like a refrigerator on wheels.

    Exactly. Thank you!

Pushrod V8s are old as hell, but Chevy LS.

Austin Healey Sprite of the day had a 4-pot of 1098 cc. The Ferrari 250 GTO’s Colombo V-12 was just 3 liters. By that measure, 2.5 liters is about what you might expect. European mills in the early 60's weren’t large, Jags and the big Healeys, excepted.

    Too true :(

I’ve seen Europe. I lived there for awhile. Yes, the countries are ‘small’ in geographical size compared to the U.S. It’s why everybody carries his or her passport all the time. A wrong turn and you end up in Belgium.

    COTD

The majority of the Electoral College did...

I laughed out loud at your comment. Thanks. It helps me deal with the fact that the idiots in state legislature where I live are probably doing that right now.

    ...and FuneralHome Red

Bollocks to your Valkyrie. All that automated techy stuff is the DCT of flyboyism, and takes away from the pilot involvement. Sopwith Camel or GTFO. This is Jalopnik, after all.

Yeah. He never would pronounce “nuclear” correctly, yet had no trouble saying “Condoleezza.” Go figure.
