Never had heated seats before buying my current car two years ago, and yeah, I like ‘em, which almost ticks me off. I used to be perfectly happy with bare bones cars. (My first car didn’t even have carpet.) Little by little, though, over the decades I’ve gotten spoiled by gizmos and conveniences, and I spent twice

Vintage slot ‘mags’ (more often in reality aluminum) are ubiquitous because they were cheap. It had more to do with cost than with design or weight. Back in the day, they were what you bought when didn’t have the budget for a set of Cragar SSes or American Racing Torque Thrusts.

I’ve been saying this for years. I’ve owned front, rear, and all-wheel drive cars, and the fun factor wasn’t solely which end propelled them or how much power they made. Saab and Audi proved FWD could be fun decades ago. Honda, Mazda, VW and Mini are do it now. Not all of us aspire to be drifters.

I’m old enough to remember Chrysler K cars when they were new, and they were... not good. Yet, I’d like to have that wagon in all it’s brownness now. Funny what nostalgia and Jalopnik can do to you.

My Mazda6 has compression of 13:1, yet recommends 87, so that’s what I use.

Beauty might be only skin deep, but that car’s skin is not beautiful.

Dude has an awesome vintage car and bike collection, and a girlfriend who flies a P51... My life sucks.

Could this be the highest mileage Maserati on the road today ever?

    Public roads should be free.

I’d respond if I had popups. I’d be looking for every excuse I had to flip ‘em. They’re cool.

    Yeah, I agree.

...Find a hood and header panel painted the right color, and you could have yourself a dirt-cheap XJ with a long life left ahead of it...

Your Dad’s tractor must be cool.

Fair is fair. (...but f#€!ing Kinja isn’t letting me post pics for some reason...)

    Fancy ≠ loud.

I think I’m okay with that.

    Minority, probably. Alone, no.

Like nearly every other crossplane V8. ‘Murcia.
