I get that this is what everyone will remember about this case but how is shitting in his bed worse than him trashing her closet and belongings, making threats, physical violence toward her, etc?

In the event you somehow forgot, this trial is happening because Depp is suing Heard for $50 million after she wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018 where she alleged she had experienced “domestic abuse.”

This whole enterprise is absolutely ghoulish. Maybe Heard is history’s greatest monster like all the headlines say, but with every obnoxious “Johnny Depp owning Amber Heard’s lawyers” video that goes viral, we’re giving powerful abusers a road map to destroying their victim’s reputations.

I know! Heard had to prove in the UK courts that she was telling the truth. So what if she has had bizarre and/or violent behavior as well? That doesn’t invalidate what was done to her. Like, I have no horse in this race, but this shit is bonkers.

Mentioning that a UK judge ruled that Depp assaulted Heard on a dozen occasions and put her life in jeopardy at least three of those times just isn’t worth Jezebel’s time, it seems. For the love of god, please remember that sometimes imperfect women are victims of domestic violence and still deserve support.

That’s a big thing. She didn’t file the suit. He did. She has counterfiled, because he just  won’t let it go. But she was willing to walk away.

I like how the implication is that she’s attention seeking by having a lawsuit filed *against* her by a man who *definitely* isn’t attention seeking and acting out of spite himself.

So, she has to be “without fault” in order to not be bankrupted, and have her mental competency questioned? While Depp gets to admit to using illicit drugs, writes that he wants to kill Heard, rape her dead body and then burn it and all he’s JUST an asshole? That’s a pretty big double standard here.

They abused each other. This is established. Depp is trying to prove that he didn’t abuse her ergo it’s defamation that she would imply he did.

Didn’t Bronson Pinchot say that Denzel was abusive and one of the most unpleasant human beings he’s ever met in his life and that he spent his income from Courage Under Fire on therapy bills? I’m no huge fan of Pompeo but I somehow trust Balki on this.

That’s exactly how I read it. He has a reputation for being a dick to women on set and elsewhere. I think the author of this piece can’t see past her dislike of Ellen Pompeo to realize Denzel’s statement isn’t the burn she thinks she is.

Thing is though despite all the headlines about it being a terrible year for the Royals at the end of the day it really hasn’t because for the only audience that actually matters, the British public, as a collective body we’re still firmly pro-Royals. Why?

The writing is bad but the line delivery is so ridiculously hammy and over-the-top it’s embarrassing. Chris Noth in particular gave such a schticky, broad performance he could have said “ah-cha-cha-cha” and it would have not been unexpected.

I agree, publicly begging her like this is a manipulative and abusive tactic to bully her into becoming his wife again. None of the public discourse I’ve seen, even from this site, seems to be recognizing or talking about that.
