NEVER

It's not Khindergyrtyn that she's starting?

I'm giving these parents so much side eye.

White people names.

I literally have cousins named Summer Day, Spring Rain, and Stormy Night, so this seems normal to me insofaras my cousins' awful terrible stupid names are my new normal

Yes. But we do get this real one:

The way you are cross-applying ethical treatment of humans and ethical treatment of animals is extremely flawed, not to mention offensive. For instance:

I think you're conflating the term "fact" with "debatable, nuanced topic that I feel strongly about." BabyGotFront doing the same thing. Not saying you're wrong about the content of your trigger induced vitriol, just that crafting such a black and white argument makes it hard to interface with any of your ideas.

Isn't it kind of her job to try and remain objective through an interview so that the interviewee will feel okay to participate? If she would have blasted him in the interview that it's preposterous that an animal could consent to this that might've ended the interview pretty abruptly. You obviously knew this

i think you guys are misunderstanding. it was very clear to me that he interpreted the dolphin's prolonged interactions with him as demonstrations of consent. that doesn't mean that i don't personally question that idea of consent, because i personally do not think animals can consent to humans, nor do i think consent

I thought it was exceedingly fair-minded. I came to this article expecting something ridiculous and came away feeling rather somber.

10,000% true btw. To be fair, my relative did not know that the family were horsefuckers until after she got married. She got a few of them into therapy and then bailed like a sane person.

i do think it's complicated, and if this interview strikes you as me playing him for laughs then we're going to have to agree to disagree

(A relative of mine married into a family of horsefuckers. She fucked a guy who fucked horses, whose father before him fucked horses, and so on. This is not one of the strangest things about my family)

Ugh. On the one hand, there's no way that this guy is doing the "right" thing. But on the other hand, he's so clearly fucked in the head. I don't want anyone to think I'm making excuses for this behavior, but it's so obvious to me in so many cases that these folks are themselves screwed up by circumstances. It reminds

Actually, this article and interview wasn't too bad. I didn't see it played up for laughs really, and they did get at the fact that he's clearly not healthy.

Oh so it's fine for Helena Bonham Carter to get naked with a fish, but not for this guy to bone a dolphin? I see how it is!

I was puzzled by the sincere distress and distaste shown in these replies, and maybe that's the answer: there is a cultural disconnect here. I am from the deepest South, and to me this is natural and fitting. Southern Gothic is not just a category of literature. Down here we name babies after departed family members,

She is ready. The only thing keeping her alive is the ventilator, which is breathing for her, and all the other tubes, feeding her, giving her liquids, etc. Taking her off of life support will allow her to pass whenever she wants. That may be right away, or she may hold on for a few minutes or hours. But if the

When my oldest sister died, it was because doctors didn't know what to do to save her. She just faded. Oct 16, 1983.
