Only from the Orthodox perspective. Catholics believe it was the Orthodox bishops who broke off. Historically, Nestorians and Miaphysites split before even the Orthodox did.

Pope doesn’t care about cool points. I know it is hard to accept, but I am pretty sure he actually believes in this whole “catholic” thing.

Indulgences are still around, but they lessen the time one spends in purgatory before getting into heaven. Most of the time these days, they are done by someone alive for a loved one who has already died.

I like that we feel we have any right to judge the leader of a faith pretty much none of us belong to, and no one is required to join.

Sorry, not sure I understand the problem with “love the sinner, hate the sin.” Should we not be respecting people who do things we disagree with? Or are you saying we don’t have the right to hate the things that some people do?

What I don’t know is what its like to be 17 in 2015. I imagine there are some differences.

Actually there are a lot of Native Americans in western ND.

I am from ND and can tell you certifiably that it is all due to oil. Not only oil/land ownership ownership, but because of the booming oil economy. Sure a lot of poor farmers and ranchers in the area started out dirt poor (pun intended - that soil is poor ground), then had a huge windfall when oil started pumping. But

There is absolutely no reason why this should be true.

I agree it is fair to call them anti-choice, with respect to the choice to have an abortion.

I agree whole-heartedly. Those who support legal access to abortion want to be called pro-choice because they are arguing for the freedom of women's right to privacy in choosing their own medical procedures.

To me, the old EU is what was exhausting. The differing layers of overriding rules for which books contradicted which comics or video games was too much to handle and I gave up on it.

What will all those communication skills matter to those kids who don't find their place among the lucky few to be spared that old-fashioned obligation—to sit still and take whatever the world gives you?

I have read some of the other comments and think they are just seeing the worst in what you have to say.

If those people really wanted to help, they'd use the countless millions they have been pouring into anti-abortion legislation to offer economic support to destitute women who choose abortion because of poverty.

My point was that anecdotal horror stories that generally make something appear worse than it is are used by both sides. You seem to have the idea that these places do absolutely no good and are all evil, a characterization often uttered against abortion providers. I strongly disagree, given how many women have gone

...Do you have any idea what Crisis Pregnancy Centers are? They are practically horror houses.

I agree with you, if the assumption is that these people ONLY focus legislation limiting abortion. In my experience, however, most are also involved in supporting crisis pregnancy centers, adoption and foster agencies, maternity homes, and also push for family-friendly tax and maternity laws. I know it is hard to

I will admit that there is a very strong belief amongst anti-abortion advocates that most women don't truly want to terminate their pregnancies. The prevailing opinion is that these women do so only because of other factors that force their hand.

I know, I discovered the error immediately after and couldn't edit. This is my point: I wouldn't even know what to look for!
