People suck when there’s no consequence for their behavior.

Fallout 76 was painfully boring although I did enjoy some of it. The Atomic Shop was crazy exploitative. I do remember thinking when I was liking it that I wouldn’t mind paying for subscription if they did away with all the monetization.

Each to their own.

BF4 was my last favorite Battlefield game but it was kind of a mess on launch. Also the Naval Strike was a nightmare. I remember it being crazy laggy.

The company has clearly moved beyond Half Life and narrative driven games in general. My guess is that the patch was put together by a couple of engineers who care about the property to the shrugs of their colleagues.

That said, it’s a really good movie. Definitely check it out sometime. If you like the Bogie, he’s also great in the Maltese Falcon which features a lot of the same people. Enjoy!

The article is interesting. This intro was pure hyperbole. To quote: “He was attacked by robots. Barely able to take them on, he could’ve been doomed”

I’ve been reading them as well. At this point, I’m rooting for Weyland Yutani. They have the biggest case of corporate blue balls that I’ve ever seen. They always get within a hair of capturing an alien and it always falls apart.

As a parent, I have no problems with seeing streamers breastfeed their children, or having my children watch another mother breastfeed. It’s a natural, life-affirming and part of being human.

Valve went from designing amazing narrative-driven games to broken spreadsheet chess.

If you want to support the game, may I suggest buying a few copies on sale and gifting to your friends or strangers? The beauty of No Man Sky is there are no microtransactions - no dlc. Let’s keep it that way :)

Same here. Played every BF since BF 1942 and I loathed BF1. Never had the energy to pick up BF 5. This definitely doesn’t make me want to come back. EA lost the pulse of what made BF enjoyable. For all the flack BF4 got, I absolutely loved that game.

Nice attempt at dead-panning that joke, but I’m still panning it nonetheless. I’d write more, but I’ve been fried lately.

They may have stopped talking about the missing multiplayer, but they never stated that it was no longer a feature. Here’s a snippet from a Polygon article a month before release:

Ironically, Conan was a pirate too, although I don’t think software was his thing.

No joke ... maybe five or six years ago, I decided to do a score comparison of every game in the Xbox 360 live marketplace. After going through several hundred games, it was clear that the lowest scored game was 2.5 out of 5. There was nothing lower and even on universally bad games or shovelware.

Highlander 1 sounds right up your alley although it’s very cheesy but fun :)

To me, that was the only good part of the game. It had a strong narrative drive, an excellent set of supporting characters, and had clear story beats with a satisfying conclusion. It was a self contained story that was far better than the rest of the game.

Actually, not all of those 14 million paid $60. A month after release, I picked it up for $40 from the PSN store and I saw it even cheaper not long afterwards. I’m guessing EA was pretty heavy handed with their discounts knowing that the game had little staying power.
