Wait ... what? Who called whom a hypocrite? Are you talking about Apple because this is a 3rd party accessory. Personally, I could care less about game portables not because I consider them inferior, but because I would never use one enough to justify the purchase. If the game portables provided an SDK and third

Well ... he may be passionate, but his follow through is pretty terrible. What sounds great on paper or twitter quip ends up being a half completed feature (ie, sheep not regrowing wool?). He's a definite "idea man" and thoughtful designer, but his execution is pretty lackluster. I'm hoping Jeb does take the game

Besides ... we're not even talking about the original Atari This company used to be called Infrogames (a French holdings company) before they changed their name to Atari (after buying the IP).

I haven't played Skyrim yet and while I'm sure the music is pretty fantastic (I loved Oblivion's music), Minecraft's music really evokes a sense peaceful fulfillment that I've never experience in any other game in my thirty something years of playing.

This is such a better game to play in real life as there is so much politics for each tile placement. A few years ago, we used to have wine / beer parties over a game of Carc. It was a always a blast. For kicks, we added the river tiles in with the rest of the tiles so you could really screw over someone by

You're thinking in small numbers. Try thinking big like in thirty or forty years when chances are, the said services and associated accounts will probably have morphed into something else or be shut down - when a lot of the original game developers will be gone and determining ownership will be a hairy affair.

I had terrible time with New Vegas. Mind you, I enjoyed the game but I suffered three hard crashes of the console (I can tell you exactly how to replicate, if you are feeling bored) and suffered tons of glitches.

You do realize that they make the final decision whether a game will ship or not? And do you also realize that even though these games are published by other developers, bestheda has the final say about quality control? One game may be an exception, but I've been seeing a clear pattern emerge with all their releases

I don't know if you're paying attention, but Bestheda has been releasing some incredibly buggy games lately. From New Vegas to Brink to Rage - each of these games could have used an extra year of development. Keep that in mind tomorrow - you're essentially paying for beta access. I'll be surprised if people are

My dream game would have the DICE people build the actual game and let the call of duty people build the lobby system, unlocks, and other meta game elements.

Actually, I find it a nice breath of fresh air. Sure, it's buyer beware, but at least you know what you are getting yourself into. And since the developers aren't buried beneath a mountain of non-disclosure agreements, they are more likely to have a constructive conversation with their audience.

Sounds cool, but this is a windows only venture a la XNA. While many in the minecraft community bemoan the use of Java, it does add some wonderful cross-platform fun.

I don't get it. Don't I already pay Microsoft for the pleasure of playing my games online? Now, I have to pay EA? It's not like a used game is creating an additional server load or additional expenses for EA.

It really isn't a big deal. It gives you thirty days to slog through what will undoubtedly be a broken mess after which you probably will have pulled out so much hair that you'll gladly pass on it.

I would love to pick up your iPad and read Kotaku posts. Where can I find it? ;)

fyi ... gamestop also allows its employees to take home new copies of a game so long as they return them before the start of business the following day. Those games, by definition, are used. In any case, I don't purchase anything from them anymore. They tend to be way overpriced.

Riiight .... and how does your argument hold up when you factor day one DLC into the mix?

It's not theft. It's copyright infringement. It's pretty much the same thing as photocopying a magazine article or borrowing a book from a friend.

When did I start buying games to help people? Seriously ... we're not talking about a charity here, we're talking business. This isn't a moral choice. If a game is compelling and the incentives are right, I'm happy to drop sixty bucks (a rarity these days). Otherwise, I find the best deal out there. Used or

The ads aren't bad at all and this is coming from a guy who spends his time tearing out unnecessary ad pages from magazines before reading them. What irks me about XBox live is buying a used game and then asked to pay an online fee to play multiplayer when I already paid Microsoft.
