Let’s just put J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in every movie, Marvel or not.

“So long, milkmaids” is a regular farewell in our house. That may be my favorite line of Lovitz’s in the film.

Debra Winger is a bit of a jerk.

ACTING!

The thing I love about that is that most of Lovitz’ best material in this movie was improvised. I’ve also heard that they left a TON of Lovitz’ storyline on the cutting room floor, which, honestly, was a good call - the finished film has just the right amount of Lovitz in it.

Give the wife the old pickle tickle😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I didn’t know that wasn’t Geena Davis in old makeup until just now!

He ad-libbed “WILL YOU SHUT UP!” to the cow because it really wouldn’t stop mooing all day.

every line he says is the best line.

It’s more of a nitpick. I feel like the premise of only the dogs speaking English and the humans speaking Japanese is a strong enough premise that you could excise all of the English-speaking humans and the movie could still be understandable with few if any subtitles.

well, Debra Dokken woulda been pretty stupid.

The film did end up being entertaining and definitely put a spotlight on this unusual time in baseball for women. Whether Winger could have brought something different to the table, one thing is for sure. Gena Davis in the lead roll knocked it out of the park. And a genius bit of casting shepherded by Marshall was

Whenever John Lovitz not on screen, all the other characters should be asking, “Where’s John Lovitz?”

Hey, we over here dunking on Madonna’s movie career? ‘Cause I’m always up for that!

I really want Anderson to make a retro scifi-adjacent movie someday. Like Life Aquatic, but in a space station / spaceship / space colony of sorts. The 70's-style Alien-esque technology alone would be glorious.

Whatever it is you’re overcompensating for, I sure hope whoever you did it to is getting the help they need.

Great call on Gattaca being the same kind of movie as Moon, movies that stand on the strength of a very focused sci-fi premise and powerful performances. I think part of the reason that it’s under appreciated is because at its core, the movie is a lot closer to a spy drama or really a heist film than it is to a

“Can I offer you a sci-fi classic in this trying time?”

Absolutely fantastic movie.
