Agreed. I really like Jan Smithers as Bailey, but Loni had great comic timing. The episode where Jennifer moves into a new home (which might be haunted, and is in a neighborhood being prowled by "a sex maniac") is one of my favorites, and Anderson's performance really holds it all together.

Kirkman's writing is strange. I agree that his dialogue sucks, but (in the comics, at least) he often let's his characters have the sorts of clarifying or conflict-resolving conversations you wish characters would have in other books.
