That is hardcore man. Glad you survived it, hope you're able to get around the no-amputee riding law.

Just sounds better and better. My s/o is job hunting and we've been looking for a new city to live in and Pittsburgh is now officially on the list of places to send resumes and cvs. Thanks for writing back with more info, i really appreciate it.

Ok, i make it a point to visit (or live in) as many major cities as i can and i have NEVER wanted to go to Pittsburgh... until now. Your ringing endorsement and that lovely picture have made me really curious. One question though, how's the level of racism and homophobia? I've found that some of the old rust belt

Hello all, my name's Daniel and i'm an Answerholic...

"Reading the here," Your first sentence seems to be missing a word...

i can't believe you didn't get any credit for this, great pun. It really defeated me.... ;-)

United States Code Title 10 > Subtitle A > Part II > Chapter 45

Can you draw? Do you know someone who can? 'Cause i'd LOVE to see this played out on the page (including the after convo gossip)... i think it'd be way better than most of the things out there now.

Thanks for joining the conversation, i love that others are reading this! As i said to John down below, i don't have any time today (work and family stuff keeping me busy) but i'll be responding tomorrow when i'll hopefully have more time. You raise some interesting points and i'll do my best to respond in kind.

First of all, let me just say that i am enjoying the living hell out of our discussion. Thanks for keeping it up and responding so well, it's a real pleasure to talk about this stuff with you. Secondly, i have a response cooking for you (and i'll answer your question, like you requested) but i probably won't get to

Actually you seem to just keep answering with the same argument, namely that a copy of a unique object is, inherently, not the same object. I agree with this statement but I don't agree that it has any bearing on our discussion, or that it does, but actually proves my point.

There is not enough hot water IN THE WORLD for the shower i am now desperately craving. I think i want to unzip my skin and chuck it in the corner.

I understand why you're hung up on the concept of the "original you" being different from the "copy you", its the very nature of ego to think so, you just have to try and expand yourself a little and realize your ego is lying to you, in the same way that people's ego's lie to them about having a soul and an afterlife.

I agree with almost everything you're saying, up until the last bit when you talk about how a copy of us would not be us. I disagree due to the fact that, between the constant replacement of cells in our physical form, and the way our minds shut down and reboot every time we sleep, that we are, in fact, already

"You are a copy."

This! Exactly why there are so many post-apocalyptic 80s movies. They were cheap to make and could still look awesome.

Great image choice!! That episode still freaks me out to this day.

four words: plastic bottle and funnel

Ah well, as an ex boring guy from seattle (still boring, still a guy, just no longer in seattle) i can sympathize. Still, was really hoping you were rocking the blue on blue eyes.

And it all becomes so very clear. You're basically Alia Atreides!
