Ack, only about 80% through it (what can i say, i only started it on tuesday!), but will hopefully finish tonight and chime in tomorrow.
@mythbri: THIS is the exact moment i totally fell in love with the book! It was the first time i really laughed out loud, just totally losing it. So good.
I finished it then i did my patented happy dance of amazing-book-joy... kind of a variant of Xander's snoopy dance ;-) Then i downloaded the sequel and read it in about a day (i got NOTHING accomplished this weekend!) and enjoyed the hell out of that one too (though i think i preferred the original)... i will write…
*laughs* of course you're a PTerry fan! That is so cool.
Amber Benson as Lenore coming back to SPN!??!? That just made my day. Loved that character. Hope they don't mess it up and make her evil... i've been waiting for Sam and Dean to team up with the good (or at least less evil) monsters for SEASONS now.
It's been lovely talking SPN with you as well. Many of my friends are into the show, but they've become so disheartened since the end of season 4 that they don't really talk about it anymore, and if they do its just endless ripping... which i totally understand and even, in some ways, agree with, but there are still…
Yeah, totally. It was obviously created as a more open ended world and i'd like to see them explore that. As i replied to Holku i think a comic is the way to go so we don't have to re-cast the characters to fit a tv budget and yet we get to continue the story. Mostly i just want more, that movie was awesome.
You're totally right about it originally being a tv show. Why i'd like to see a comic continuation is because, now that we have such great actors playing the characters, it would be really hard to get used to whoever they'd cast for the tv show. With a comic book you could keep the production costs down, stay true…
Is that Action Man (from Venture Bros.) in the right front position?
+1 for utter creepiness. well done!
I never really watched that show (caught a few eps but was never a follower), but i've heard good things about the meta episodes and i'm hoping this will be something equally crack-tastic.
Oh wow, how have i never heard of the book depository before? Free shipping!? this is fricking awesome!. Thank you for the link!
I'd like to see a Zombieland comic book, or tv show, but preferably comic book. They set up the world perfectly for an extended story, and the characters are great and funny. Throw in some red shirts, possibly a few new main characters and see where it goes.
Depends really. On a show that is still trying to build story and plot, yes, there probably is such a thing as "too meta"... but on a show that's jumped the shark, gone totally insane, and just decided to go with the crazy to see where it takes them, i think you can't go meta enough.
Hehe, "loop it!"
Sometime (when i have more time then i do now) i'll have to give you my epic rant on how i would have liked season five to go but, alas, this is not that time... I'm sure you're quite distraught ;-)
"sexism veiled as 'empowerment'" THIS! Seriously, between Buffy and Sucker Punch i really think people need to look up "empowerment" and "feminism" to remind themselves what they mean. (Note: I love Buffy, and i'm very much looking forward to SP, but calling them feminist or empowering just because they have female…
Didn't Fithp use this tech (or something like it) in Footfall? Or was that a different kind of laser propulsion system?
Don't disrespect the nuke powered rocket. Orion may still be our best shot at an interplanetary space ship. And beating our nuke swords into propulsion plowshares sounds like a pretty peaceful solution to me.
