@k4man: yeah, i'll probably end up seeing it on dvd... i am very weak in my determination to stop watching his films.

Or they could, you know, accept that women have worth WITHOUT being married, and allow them to do the "work of men", thus getting rid of the deficit of skilled workers and the surplus of dependents all in one swoop.

PERAMBULATE!

I tell myself i'm not going to see this, that the Nic Cage fanboy in me has been strangled and put to rest, for my own good.

@zephyrkey: This is why Lois McMaster Bujolds most recent book, Cryo Burn, was so awesome. It came with a cd of, not only Cryo Burn, but the ENTIRE series (of which there are 11 or so books) in e-book format. It was amazing and, i hope, a model of the future.

@KinoEscalate: Song quality? Rhythm? My ear drums to stop bleeding? Geek is the new cool, there are so many cute boys and girls doing this stuff these days sheer cuteness isn't enough, you actually need a little talent to go with your fan.

arg, arg, arg! io9, why!? I clicked, thinking this would be the current "F&ck Me Ray Bradbury" and all i got was this?!

@Andrew Holdeman: That's totally what i was thinking of. The Tollan were one of my favorite things from SG-1, i loved the concept of an earth people that had moved forward, instead of backwards.

I always find this stuff so interesting. If they had been unlucky enough to get hit by a good series of plagues, killing vast amounts of people and making slave labor less economical, i wonder if the industrial revolution would have kicked off 2000 years early.

@Daumier: really!? damn. damn. damn. But, but... they can't screw this one up, its the best! ARG!!!!

@Merricat The Second: *facepalm* RIGHT! obviously i missed out on the most... uh... obvious example. Thanks for adding that!

Ok, i just have to weigh in here, at least a little. I'm not the hugest 3D fan, as in i like it in some things, and not in others. When its done well, i think it works, when its not, it doesn't. And sometimes it gives me a bit of a headache, or a few nauseous moments at the beginning while my brain adjusts. So

@bawheid: *snort* oh, that was great! I think that's Panthro-s belt/cod-piece, but your idea is way way funnier.

Hell yes i'll watch it. As has been already said, it can't possibly be worse then the original, and the animation HAS to be better.

@vinylrake: Automatic injectors, how very high end... obviously your family was on the "right" side of the tracks. We had to make our own epinephrine from the family sheep, and the spikes were hand carved. Trained monkeys? We would have given our left cranial holes for some of those!

@mordicai: My family had booby-traps at the dinner table, a pit of spikes in front of the bathroom, and we all had to inject epinephrine into each other's hearts as a wake up call...

Ok, the lack of Tron in the VFX category really pisses me off. I'll be the first person to say that they didn't pull off Clu/Young Flynn to anyone's satisfaction, but that's a pretty minor thing since it was still an amazing affect, and EVERYTHING ELSE in that movie was gorgeous. And they got the 3D right, something

@collex: I think the Toy Story thing is because it's "based" on the original movie. As far as i know, no sequel is considered an "original" screenplay.

Oh, so much cheese! They really threw it all together in this one, the carnival of crime, the cape, scales... so much horrible goodness. I am rolling around in the terribleness of this show and i won't deny it. Can't watch the Trog scenes though, they get the fast forward button. Not since Jake "you look like an

@Damob: wow. just wow. thanks for the link. I think i'm going to go throw up now.
