You are correct - polarization indeed makes HUD disappear. I had to switch to specifically unpolarized sunglasses, happen to be Ray Bans also, when I first got a bimmer with HUD. I haven't - seen some pix of what they're putting in the new S class. Can't get behind what looks like two iPads wedged in front of the dashboard. The UI might be improved, I don't know. Good point about the AM system, though. Whatever they bring over will likely be an improvement.
Hopefully "electrics" doesn't include the infotainment system. Benz is still peddling their pathetic ms paint designed user interface.
