Um. Jennifer Grey was not a dancer either. Not even a little.

Baby doesn’t even need to be “a dancer” but she has to be someone who has rhythm and charisma. I’m imagining someone like Julianne Hough in this role and that would’ve been all wrong. But someone who can move and appear to get better as the movie goes on... now that would sell it.

I like Breslin a lot, but she is just such an odd choice for this role. And while she’s a cute girl (and no body shaming is intended here) her body-type doesn’t read “dancer” and she’s a bit awkward, and it’s very distracting.
