Ugh—I love my City, but I’m really starting to hate the people in it. You can’t attend anything in NYC these days without hawking ticket sales/releases and getting them the second they go live, it’s so annoying.

MPAA ratings are a farce and, frankly, an anachronism. In the age of the internet, do we really need some cabal board telling us what movies are “appropriate” for this age group or that? The worst part about it is that it influences directly the content, as the desire film studios edit many films so that they fit the

This is all indicative of why the “left” in this country can never accomplish anything.

Isn’t this sort of criticism a bit much, I mean, it’s really counter productive. News flash—people generally become more empathetic to causes that are foreign to them when they stop being foreign and become personal.

That’s great, but OP never purported to deny anyone the choice to do anything. They merely stated their feelings, which they’re entitled to.

So?

We all have the right to be judgmental of whatever we want. Your values aren’t everyone’s values. And other people’s values aren’t wrong or bad because they don’t comport with every facet of yours. Asshole.

I’m not taking a position on the substantive issue here, but your way of thinking is so fucking stupid. You can support someone’s right to do as they please while criticizing the decision.

How can someone so smart be so wrong?

I’m a Trini too and I agree—I love fresh coconut water, I’m not a fan of the packaged stuff. It tastes way different.

I have so many religious extended family members who say things like “if you don’t believe in something you’ll fall for anything.”

I don’t think that’s necessarily the assumption though. The actual problem is that there isn’t enough diversity in Congress.

Same. It rarely happens now because I’m in a civil practice, but I interned for a criminal defense firm my first summer and that happened to me often. Generally, court officers were extremely apologetic though.

Calling you out on this nonsense, bullshit narrative you’re trying to spin, obviously.

Because Americans are consumers first and citizens, like, seventh. Of course they support LGBT rights, but that chicken is sooooo fuckin good tho...

if you talk to any Christian they would not say anything anti-gay, only that they don’t agree with being gay.

Then you don’t actually care about these issues, and if that’s the case, fine, but don’t pretend you do. Not supporting a business with practices or ownership that promotes politics you disagree with is literally the least you can do to support a cause.

The fuck are you talking about?

What exactly will be achieved by shaming someone over who their friends are?
