Except that A LOT of people are already paying for the “safety” features like lane departure warnings and etc that adds more than $1000 to the cars as a option.

I actually had a very similar situation one time. Turns out it wasn’t actually an attempted carjacking though but a dumb fool who thought I was his Uber.

The example is a bit extreme, but let’s not pretend people don’t get carjacked already today, and that’s with a vehicle they can drive off in.

Because no one ever robs convenience stores, right? Turn your phone off and wear a mask/nondescript clothing, all those sensors are pretty much useless for identification purposes.

Uber is not “subsidizing” it’s drivers - let’s make that clear. If anything drivers are the ones subsidizing Uber since they provide the vehicle and bear the cost of phone bills, insurance, maintenance, gas, and depreciation.
