A few things from my cats:
One of mine is a toy dragon. As in, I'll see her carrying her toys into one room, one by one, and when I check on her later she's sleeping on a pile of toys she created. Adorable little monster.
Because I can communicate verbally, graduated college, and have a job, so I don't fit their mold.
And yes, I know there are severely autistic individuals whose lives and thus the lives of their families are extremely, extremely difficult and heartbreaking. But that is not all people with autism.
For whatever it's worth, I have a B-12 deficiency (verified by lab results, because my GP is a total nerd and loves ordering blood work). He put me on the NatureMade B-12 3000 mcg sublinguals, specifically, to see if they got my numbers up before resorting to shots, because apparently new research has indicated that…
This, so much. When I interned for ESPN, my interview and hiring was over and done with by the time the professors were encouraging students to look and apply. Not sure if it's an out-of-touch thing, or a change in the TV broadcasting industry over time, but it definitely pays to look in advance.
My fiance's dad spent the entirety of his sons' childhoods telling them how awful and incompetent you had to be to be working a server job/retail job/stereotypical minimum-wage job as an adult man (specifically - it was fine for women, duh, because they would get married and have babies). The typical line was, "You…
My fiance's dad spent the entirety of his and his brother's childhoods telling them how awful and incompetent you had to be to be working a server job/retail job/stereotypical minimum-wage job as an adult. The typical line was, "You don't want to be flipping burgers at 30, now son!" Now he wonders why they get anxiety…
My mother, my sister, and I are on the autism spectrum. Anti-vaxxers piss me off something fierce. Like, my existence (and everyone else on the spectrum) is so terrifying that it's worse than dying? Jerkwads.
I've lived in Central and Northeast Florida, and I've never heard it called that, but it came up in Google as typical Florida terminology for "ambulance".
All of this just in time to get attention before sweeps (which starts today).
The only people I know who like it are the same people who would rather watch 4x3 television in "squishy vision" so they don't see any black bars on the side.
The actress looks like the love child of Gillian Anderson and Blossom, to me.
I had to clean bathrooms at Old Navy and Target. Women's restrooms are BY FAR worse than Men's. Probably because they're used more often, more babies are changed, and boy and girl children of all ages run amok in them. Then, you have the subset of women and girls who have no idea how to dispose of sanitary napkins or…
It is amazing the things you learn about your family during weddings or wedding planning. On one hand, I sort-of get where my mother was coming from - I don't know much about her first wedding, to my bio-dad, but I know that marriage didn't end well. Her second wedding was shotgun, as I reflect on it as an adult. They…
My mom gave up talking about the kids. If my fiance and I ever actually set a date, though, we're doing it on a cruise ship. I don't care if it's tacky. My mom still thinks you can get the wedding she wants (catered, with lots of guests and the like) for $5000. When we were talking details, she kept trying to add…
