This definitely grips me more than would a muddy old river or reclining Buddha.

Favre took over in ‘92.  The Packers have had Favre or Rodgers at QB for 27 seasons, Super Bowl 53 is in February.  They have had Favre or Rodgers for literally over half of the Super Bowl era.

Still has to be one of the smartest coaches in the NFL- he has a pencil on his ear after all.

Conspiracy theory time, lets do this.

I mean it was a whooping but they only beat Minnesota 27-6.

The jobs he has taken instead of being head coach:

While we’re at it, regular season MLB should have doubleheaders every Saturday from May to Labor Day and turn Monday nights into 1-2 nationally televised games only with the rest of the league getting the day off, much like the NBA’s Thursdays. Saturday baseball is more fun than Monday baseball.

This is my hometown- Chuck Brennan is one of the worst humans on earth and can fuck off straight to hell.

Gee, a European Superleague with ten exclusive match windows per week seems mighty fine.

Outside of Seattle and Vegas, there’s not going to be more US cities for the NBA. Silver has been pretty clear about the NBA’s future is international, and the next 20-30 years are way more likely to see Memphis, New Orleans, OKC and Utah relocate to Mexico City for sure, with probably Montreal, Vancouver, or even a L

Here’s a hot take: This woman is too old for chicken tenders.

Can confirm.  Very cool to see him go from mostly fan blog/podcasts world into the big time!

Why is the “European Superleague” with a pro/rel component inherently worse than having the best teams spread across 4-5 leagues that are majority filled with garbage teams? I’d rather watch 10 matches per weekend of the top 20 teams playing against each other (and the pressure of huge clubs facing relegation) instead

There needs to be more shitting on Joe Mauer, cardboard cutout of a human, for using “What you know about that” his entire career, even in 2018.

I think you nailed it. I still don’t understand why my area’s paper of record gives you 10 free articles per month (before factoring that it’s basically per browser). I don’t know how the Athletic is doing profit-wise in individual markets but why aren’t more papers that have the clout to say “where the hell else are

The only real solution is never sit in those seats, unless you catch a liner there’s nothing you can do to not look like a douche.

If you go by GDP for market size it would be 38th.

Money. The thing you’re overlooking is money. The island is pretty poor compared to the US (average income in PR is 40% of the 50 states+DC average), is heavily indebted (meaning no government money for a stadium), and has a very small cable tv market (to pay for the cable channel the team plays on). Not saying it

Well said.  Also, isn’t Manfred supposed to be the media/tv savvy guy?  His comments sound like he’s saying “well he plays for the Angels instead of the Yankees or Red Sox, how are we supposed to work with that?”

In NFL betting, I like to call this the “Packers” or “Pittsburgh” Premium. Vegas knows who the sucker tourists will bet on regardless of the odds, and Vegas wasn’t built on tourists making money.
