it’s not imperceptible at first, conservationists have been waving the red flag about this for decades now, regardless we need to act now.

I can think of a couple.
No turbo no deal.
You should really edit this. CNBC has issued a retraction on that dollar figure (Lawley never said it)
It’s not the typo. It’s being unaware of it for hours and not noticing the low revenues coming in.
A slide show? Seriously?
The original, military-derived Hummer was incredibly wide, so they’re probably just returning to their roots. I remember the Michigan DNR got some and quickly realized they were too wide for some of the two-track roads in the state. Drivers were advised to keep the windows rolled up so the tree branches whipped by the…
manufacturers would be better off focusing on high efficiency/low power economy cars and hybrids rather than trying to make EVs.
Same; at my last job, on my worst night I probably cost the company $250k in damage and not only did I not get fired, I later got put up for a promotion...and that was just one time I fucked up!
But where’s the profits to be had in that??? Car makers are at the end of the road when it comes to the ICE business model. They can’t increase their margins anymore and EVs offer opportunity for more $$. It’s a as simple as that.
I take it you've never been to a gas station that wasn't a QT or Bucc-ees, there are tops, 2 employees working at any given time, sometimes just 1. Between lotto, scratch offs, smokes, icees, etc, they likely didn't notice given they didn't have to interact with any customer there just for gas, unless you had someone…
There's a difference between honest and stupid.
Pretty sure they can’t charge the customer again with a higher price that was NOT listed on the pump or sign at the time of the transaction.
16 grand mistake? HAH.
How did employees not notice this issue for HOURS after they started seeing people line up? I think it’s harsh to fire the guy. I feel like there may be more to the story we’re not hearing. I know margins are thin, but come on. There’s not an automated way to catch this?
“family obligations, friend outings”
It sure does feel this way. The company isn’t so new anymore but still doesn’t seem to be able to function like a fully fledged automaker. It can’t handle development of multiple new vehicles at once, and certainly can’t meet its own time lines (for reference the VAG auto group develops dozens of new cars…
Hasn’t stopped the USA from doing just that in the past. In fact, for us little people, it’s enshrined as “Civil Asset Forfeiture.” The compensation for Japanese internment victims was laughably small. So - send them $1. Done. Legal.
Honestly for me Amazon isn’t as much about the price as it is the simple convenience.
