My wife’s 16 brz didn’t need much gusseting to not pretzel with a moderately built LS7. 

My wife blew up her FA20 in 24k miles of driving spiritedly across the southern USA. We put a LS7 in it with the flyin miata kit for miatas with the cts-v accessories and it works great, gets slightly better hwy fuel economy, quite a bit worse city fuel economy. It doesn’t matter though because she drives like 3-4k…

All of these are hundreds of pounds heavier than a brz. 

Last time I looked at RF miatas they were selling for a good bit north of $30,000.00

Get triple pane windows and improve the insulation of your house.
