Honestly, I think the Academy is waiting for Angela to do a leading role to give her an Oscar for it.
Definitely the best talent in the film, but she deserves a better role, a lead role.
If you’re nominated, you *CANNOT* be snubbed.
Maybe it’s just me but I can’t understand the fear of range anxiety. I daily a lifted GX460 with a 9 mile round trip commute. For longer trips we have a gas saving CT200h, but even then the number of times we go longer than 2 hours round trip is a handful of times a year. I imagine majority of commuters are in the…
The grille was ugly in the ICE cars, what made them think it would translate to an EV? ugh, fire the executives that approved that.
yeah, for 95% of the time the EV car would do.
but like twice or thrice a year i need to visit my parents home in different states which that loaners will be good options to have.
EV owner here with a hot take: 1-2 hours of extra charging on a road trip is a big deal, especially when you’re only taking a 4 hour trip. That said, there’s no mention of DCFC recharge times here.
Tesla set the standard years ago with 25-35 min 0-80% charge times, which have been bested by 18 min times by Hyundai/Kia…
$60k and 220 miles range. The Genesis GV60 is $60k and 250 miles range and that many are saying is going to be low volume. As much as I don’t want to say the T word, at that price not competitive. Lincoln should have a version of the Mach-E to compete with the Cadillac Lyric AWD at ~$63k with 300+ miles of range.
“Given the space outside the venue, the pictures came out stunning. However, sitting down in a theater was a different story and still, as a Black woman should, she was completely unbothered taking up space. She deserved to.”

She could have shown a little more class when she didn’t get the award. I know, I know - she was snubbed because she was black, same old song and dance.
Let’s be honest: Ms. Bassett had been robbed of an Oscar at least twice before, but even she had to know she wasn’t going to win it this year. So I’m actually surprised at her shock. Everyone knew this was Jamie Lee Curtis’ award to lose. If anything, Angela should have won it for the first “Black Panther” movie. But…
Probably unpopular viewpoint: one can be a great actress and do a just-good job in a mediocre role in a mediocre movie. Black Panther: Wakanda was nowhere near as good as the first one, and the acting was likewise limited by a much weaker script. Angela Bassett gives good performances in her worst movies, and has…
Angela Bassett is an incredible actress, but would you feel the same about her not winning if she were another race? (see what I did there?) The assumption she should have “won” is just an opinion without objective measure.
She does deserve an oscar, but not for wakanda forever. That movie was a mess and even though she did great in it, it just wasn’t enough to stand out. She was pulled down by everything else in that movie that was just.... meh.
No one watches this. Ridiculous materialism and black violence.
I think the strangled cries of Racism are going to be a harder sell this year, but keep fighting the good fight.
Hugh Grant is a lot like how Alec Baldwin used to be: kind of a known crank, occasional jerk, who built up enough goodwill being charming/affable to occasionally get away with being a crank. I once heard a comedian refer to it as “Asshole Credits,” wherein some celebrities build up goodwill by being charming, and…
General rule in Hollywood: if they usually play creeps, they’re probably extremely nice. (E.g., Christopher Walken, Steve Buscemi, Willem Dafoe.) If they’re usually playing charming and nice (and they’re not Tom Hanks or Paul Rudd), there’s a good chance they’re creeps. Grant is a prime example of the latter. (See…
I am conflicted because
