Can anyone find me one, gut the batteries and pitiful motor (to reduce shipping costs) and mail it to me in Kona? Refit it with modern electrics and it’s an ideal Hawaii beach car.

Live in a community (or condo) with an HOA? There is only one defense. Get elected to the Board of Directors. Yes, it’s a miserable, unappreciated, unpaid, time-suck; but you can help balance out the whack jobs. It’s in your enlightened self-interest.

And you thought the interwebz was nuttin but trolls?

Nostrils, and don’t tell me they’re for cooling the front brakes.

I will. We’ll be looking for something to bring home with us. Hafta be something old!

I agree with you, add terrible turning radius to dislikes. The sedan was the Swiss army knife of cars. My Turbo convert is very sprightly, and besides we live on an island, with a 55 mph speed limit on our few highways. I felt like I was back in the ‘50s the first time I drove it with the top down. The ride is a bit

Also, old German cars smell funny.

Nope, I had a sedan for three years in Kona, and used it like a truck to renovate our condo. Sold it when we brought our Outback from the mainland. When I needed a second car to drive for a post-retirement job, I picked up a Turbo convertible, which I am still driving. I wouldn’t want one for mainland lomg-trip

Is the property zoned? If so, and it is in violation, gentle pressure can be brought to bear on ‘Mary’ to remove the vehicles.

Short bus. And a vascectomy.

The thing I thought at first glance was ‘Studebaker’. But not the Avanti, rather the ‘50s bullet nose. I know the details differ (why the grilles) but the overall design language set me up.

The Hyundai, Audi, and Lexus actually look better.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone would start a business where you could just get a car when you need one? They could buy a whole shitload of cars, all different kinds of cars; and when you really needed a car you could give them some money and they would let you drive THEIR cars, whichever kind you were in the mood

Where are the hackers?

Not for the first three years.

When I was 15, my dad got me a job as a ramp rat at the Banning, Ca airport. The winds in that pass can be incredible. One day when everyone with common sense stayed on the ground and tied down, my boss said comeon, and I’ll show you something.

Make it a two-seater, and offer it. Please.

That ‘conveyor belt’ was meaningless to the lift generated by the forward motion created by the thrust of the propellor. The airplane was able to move forward to reach aerodynamic lift off, which can be totally independent of forward motion of the airframe. To wit; I once stopped for fuel in Cut Bank, Montana in my
