Good points. I think the spread on this 9 speed is very wide (9.8:1), whereas most CVTs are much less than that (6:1 or so).

No, it's correct. It doesn't give more ratios, but it does allow a wider range while keeping the shift points close. CVTs have unlimited ratios, but it's a narrower range.

The bad thing about the Ram box is that is narrows your bed size by a good bit. Mine doesn't have it, and I prefer it that way.
