We bought a demo 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV for use as an in-town/commuter car. Car had 178 miles on it, and stickered at $26k - we bought it from Chevy dealer for $15k...

You (conveniently?) missed the part about the EV1 having limited range & no recharging infrastructure.  And the oft-cited sub-150 mile range of the Gen II NiMH battery packs would tend to be a deal killer for most serious buyers.
