On NBC, you could almost hear Katie Couric thinking “oh fuck me” before she took a stab at pronouncing the Tongan flag bearer’s name. She was pretty close, just like “Pyongyang” is pretty close.

When the Olympics roll around I always remind people to find the CBC or BBC feeds if they can.

In a way it’s reassuring to remember that there are dumb people everywhere.

There is nothing wrong with focusing on the US team. But whey they cut meaningful coverage for this, it is crap.

In the German broadcast they kept mixing up Pyeongchang and Pyongyang and they didn’t subtitle the first speech because they didn’t expect someone in Korea to speak Korean and had no interpretor on their team.

God, NBC’s coverage is fucking terrible.

Let’s see how this goes for him...
