Look, you guys know it isn’t personal. Frankly, we don’t give a shit how many girls you creeps diddle, as long as it stays quiet and the medals and money keep flowing our way. But this... this looks bad, and it’s starting to make us look bad.

If we’ve learned anything this week, it’s that there’s no possible way you could become a board member if you haven’t been grossly negligent already for decades.
Sometimes the only way out is to purge everything.
USAG is going to get decertified. Mark my words. They’ve done virtually nothing (one more director resigned) since yesterday’s letter from Blackmun. You can just feel their backs up against the wall, looking for some way out of this. The phone lines between USAG and USOC are probably at risk of going nova right now.
This is the power of survivors. I hope the efficacy coming forward and voicing wrongs never fades from this point on.
Good. Now look inward, USOC, and give the boot to anyone who was active during the times when you dismissed and ignored the complaints of athletes that were brought to YOU.
This needs many more stars.
There isn’t a list of board members on their website, but there is a ‘List of Permanently Illegible Members’: https://usagym.org/pages/aboutus/pages/permanently_ineligible_members.html
USAG: Are you sure you want all of our resignations?
The USOC board can also step down while they’re at it. Wasn’t it made clear that some of them also knew too?
Doesn’t seem fair. Some of those board members probably haven’t even gotten the chance to be grossly negligent of monstrous crimes yet.
It’s a start. Now it’s MSU’s turn
Good. Someone bring me the head of both Karyolis while we are at.
Taking down the institution that enabled him, or anyone with this type of power, is the only way we will begin to really fix this issue. How many times does this need to happen for that to be understood? You can’t just remove a few people and then go back to business as usual. This happens over and over again with…
So the solution to the problem of a doctor abusing gymnasts is to make sure the careers of those he did not abuse are *also* ruined or derailed? That makes zero sense. It will also give ammunition to everyone who claims the #MeToo movement takes things too far.
The USOC simply recognizes a different governing body. Problem solved.
How long does it to take to file paperwork to incorporate an organization? That’s how long it would take.
Yes! It might break their hearts. It might “send them into a depression.” It might make them cry. Guess what? That’s on the rapists and his enablers! They get to take responsibility for that too! These institutions should pay for those therapy sessions of those athletes. When you have a crime this egregious and…
Yes. And some people just can’t understand why an institution needs to face this type of penalty. They think you just need to remove “the rapists” and problem solved!
